It is with great sadness that Pulse Design Group announces the passing of one of the firm's founding Principals, Donald G. Wilson, AIA. Mr. Wilson passed away August 21, 2016. Wilson, along with long-time business associate, Richard Johnson, founded the Kansas City architectural firm of Wilson Johnson Associates in 1980. Don had an active leadership role in the firm for 27 years. Previously, he worked for Hewitt & Royer Architects (URS) starting in 1961 where he mentored numerous young architects and designers, many whom later established their own firms in the Kansas City region that still exist today.

Don worked on national and international projects in addition to being NCARB certified and licensed in 46 states. During his career, he worked with the majority of the hospitals in the Kansas City  region. While adept at various project types, Don's specialty and passion focused on healthcare design.

Mr. Wilson was born July 10th, 1935 in Little River, Kansas, where he worked many summers earning money for college. He attended For Hays State College from 1953 to 1955 before transferring to Kansas State University, where he received his Bachelor of Architecture in 1959. He also served in the Kansas Air National Guard from 1958 to 1964.

Don was a longtime resident of Leawood, Kansas and is survived by his wife, Susie Wilson. His wisdom and encouraging smile will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
